Meet the Team at Brush Modern Dentistry

Nirmal Bhakta, D.D.S.

University of Texas at Austin - 2003

NYU College of Dentistry - 2008

To start, I’m a true Texan at heart, and always will be. I was raised in West Texas in Amarillo. That’s right, The panhandle of Texas. I grew up loving my visits to our family dentist in Amarillo, and the whole experience at his office just fascinated me. After some begging, he agreed to let me shadow him for two years, which ignited my passion for dentistry at a young age.

I was lucky enough to meet my amazing wife, Hemali, in NYC, and am blessed to be married to her. She just so happens to be the dental hygienist in our practice. Yes, we work together, and it’s absolutely amazing. We just had our son, Kian, a few months ago and it has changed our world for the better!

I love getting to know all my patients and building meaningful, life-long relationships with them. I want each of my patients to feel at home when they come to see us for their dental care. I am very passionate about being able to serve our patients in the best way possible through patient education and modern conservative care.

I have a passion for serving others. We strive to be heavily involved in our local Frisco community. Frisco is home to us, and giving back to our amazing local community is such an important part of who I am.

Finally, when I'm not taking care of patients......Things I absolutely LOVE

  • Spending time with my beautiful wife and son, Kian! This is everything.
  • BBQ!  Catch me grilling anything and everything.  True Meat junkie.
  • Spicy food! I love eating anything spicy. Nothing like a good sweat.
  • Craft Beer, Stouts, BOURBON!  Yum Yum Yum.
  • Hanging out with our family and friends.  Relationships Matter.
  • Trying new things, visiting new places, experiencing new cultures

The Texas Longhorns are EVERYTHING to me. I bleed burnt orange; Seriously.

Hemali, RDH, MS

Hello! I grew up in the Chicago area as a child. I moved around quite a bit while I was young. My family eventually ended up moving to Charlotte, NC, where I finally finished up my high school education. After high school, I had the pleasure of attending North Carolina State University, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences. Go Wolfpack!!

While at NC State University, I worked part-time with a dentist whom I absolutely adored. I got to experience what a tremendous dental practice looks and feels like. I knew from that moment that I wanted to work in dentistry. After my undergraduate studies, my dream of moving to New York City came true when I got accepted to the Dental Hygiene Program at NYU College of Dentistry. While there, I ran into this amazing person named Nirmal Bhakta, and the rest was history. New York City will always be special to me!

We both decided that moving to Texas was in our cards in 2009. I’ve always had a passion for education and teaching, so I looked to further my education once we moved to Texas. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Dental Hygiene and Education from The Baylor College of Dentistry in 2012. I’ve had the privilege of being an assistant professor at the Baylor College of Dentistry for some years and have gotten to meet some very passionate educators along the way. And to top it off, I have had the privilege to teach aspiring dental hygienists. Education has always been a passion of mine, and what better way to serve others than teaching students about dental hygiene!

I absolutely love everything about dentistry. I’m a dental geek. I truly am. I love teeth! My highest priority is always my patients and their oral health. I love getting to know my patients on a personal level, and I make sure that all my patients are healthy and are treated like family. My philosophy is simple: Treat every patient like I would treat my own mother. Prevention is vital! So, we take the time to educate our patients about their oral health, and how to keep their teeth healthy. Both my husband and I truly believe in conservative care. Less is always more!

I love to run! I love to keep myself healthy! I am a vegetarian by choice. I enjoy practicing yoga and love being outdoors. I love arts and crafts, and oh ya….FASHION! What woman doesn’t right? I love being around my husband and traveling and experiencing new parts of the world. I am an avid sports fan as well. Go Wolfpack! Go Bulls! We have an absolutely amazing 5-year old Goldendoodle named MJ, short for Michael Jordan (or Magic Johnson if you ask my husband).

A Healthy Smile Is Just a Click Away.
Very optimistic and honest

Dr. Bhakta is very committed to the wellbeing of my teeth. He is tenacious and encouraging. He's the first dentist to help me create a treatment plan the sounded like "this can improve" after we do some work and tweaks. Very optimistic and honest. I really like him and his work ethic. Not something I've said about a dentist in a LONG time. I highly recommend him and the gracious staff at his practice.
