Technology

I believe that staying updated on the latest techniques and technology used in dentistry is one of the best ways to serve my patients and ensure their well being. I've equipped our Frisco, TX dental office with state-of-the-art technology designed to provide patients with an exceptional experience. Here is some of the technology you'll find at BRUSH Modern Dentistry.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays help me to see your teeth and mouth internally so I can better diagnose any concerns as early as possible. X-rays let me detect issues like tooth decay sometimes before we can even see it with an examination, which enables us to utilize less complicated treatment options for restoring your teeth.

I can access digital x-rays immediately and show them to you on the television screens in my treatment rooms so we can discuss any pertinent issues right away.

Digital x-rays are safer for both my patients and the environment as they emit 80 percent less radiation than traditional x-rays and they don't require chemicals for developing them.

Digital Impressions

Remember when it used to be a goopy and uncomfortable mess to get impressions taken of your teeth? Well, those days are gone at BRUSH Modern Dentistry! Digital impressions allow us to scan an image of your tooth that we can send directly to our trusted dental laboratory so they can make your restoration to my exact specifications.

Digital impressions make procedures such as a dental crown or bridge more streamlined and comfortable.

The Intraoral Camera

It's so much easier to understand your treatment needs when you can see what is happening with your tooth. Decay can cause dark discoloration, and our intraoral camera allows us to take pictures of your teeth so you can see and understand the problem. When you understand your treatment needs, if there are options, you can select the procedures that make the most sense for you.

A picture is truly worth a thousand words with our intraoral camera!

Rotary Endodontics

It may be hard to imagine a root canal feeling comfortable after all the horror stories you might have heard over the years. However, root canal therapy is actually relieving your pain, not causing it, and rotary endodontic tools make the procedure even more smooth and efficient.

Instead of the stainless steel used in the past, rotary tools are made of nickel titanium, which is much more flexible and reaches the inner canals of your tooth more easily. The tools are also electric, which means your procedure can be completed faster bringing you the relief you need.

3-D Cone Beam

Our 3-D cone beam provides three-dimensional images of your teeth, bone, and jaw joints, and it's helpful for planning various procedures such as dental implant placement surgery, or root canal therapy.

I can also monitor the health of your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) with these images and detect any concerns that may be causing discomfort or other issues.

Laser Dentistry

The dental laser has been in use in the industry for over 25 years providing patients with more streamlined procedures and a more comfortable healing process. It is especially useful for helping patients with advanced gum disease (periodontitis) to manage their condition successfully.

Combining light and heat with precision, the laser removes diseased tissue without harming healthy tissue in a more comfortable manner that doesn't require the use of scalpels or sutures. It also seals and sterilizes the treated area, which makes healing more comfortable and efficient.

VELscope

Did you know that oral cancer is responsible for one death every hour, 24 hours a day in America? These numbers haven't improved over the years because oral cancer is often not detected until its more advanced stages, which doesn't always give the patient the best prognosis.

At BRUSH Modern Dentistry, I use VELscope to assist in detecting oral cancer in its earliest stages, which gives you the chance to treat it more effectively. VELscope uses a special blue light that highlights abnormal tissue very early on, so it's easier to detect than with just the naked eye.
