At BRUSH Modern Dentistry, we are a family
I work side by side with my wife, who is our dental hygienist, and we've hand-selected a team that shares our passion for building relationships with our patients and our dedication to providing them with compassionate dentistry.
We hope to exceed your expectations of what high-quality dentistry is every time you visit our Frisco dental office!

Dr. Nirmal Bhakta
To start, I’m a true Texan at heart, and always will be. I was raised in West Texas in Amarillo. That’s right, The panhandle of Texas. I grew up loving my visits to our family dentist in Amarillo, and the whole experience at his office just fascinated me. After some begging, he agreed to let me shadow him for two years, which ignited my passion for dentistry at a young age.
I was fortunate to attend The University of Texas at Austin where I went on to receive my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Business Management. Following Austin, I finally got the chance to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a dentist at the prestigious NYU College of Dentistry, where I graduated in the top percentile of my class in 2008.
Then I was lucky to meet my amazing wife in Manhattan and was eventually blessed to be married to her. She just so happens to be the dental hygienist in our practice! Yes, we work together, and it’s absolutely amazing.
Naturally being a Texan, we decided to make DFW home immediately after graduating. I have been practicing dentistry here in the DFW area for 11 years. In 2016, my wife and I decided it was time to do things our way - finally! Treat patients the way we want to be treated and deliver dentistry the way we envisioned. It was then that BRUSH Modern Dentistry here in Frisco was born.
I love getting to know all my patients and building meaningful, life-long relationships with them. I want each of my patients to feel at home when they come to see us for their dental care. My wife and I are both very passionate about being able to serve our patients in the best way possible through patient education, and modern conservative care.
I am a firm believer in life-long education and am genuinely passionate about staying on the leading edge of dentistry. I invest hundreds of hours in continuing education and ongoing training each year to make sure my patients are taken care of in the best way possible. I am a constant student at the nation’s most advanced continuing education programs, including the well-known Spear Education Center. I have extensive training in all aspects of general dentistry, including cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, as well as Invisalign orthodontics. I take pride in staying up to date with the latest techniques and technologies in dentistry today. I try to stay very active in the dental community and am a proud member in a long list of dental associations including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the North Texas Dental Society. I am currently almost complete with finishing my fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry.
As fortunate as I have been, I have a passion for serving others. We strive to be involved in our local Frisco community as much as possible. Frisco is home to us, and giving back to our local community is important to us. Giving back to our great nation is important to us. Making the world a better place for all is important to us. Nothing makes me happier than bringing joy to those I am fortunate to serve. We frequently participate in programs to help those less fortunate to receive the dental care they need through various non-profit organizations. Check out our philanthropy page to learn more!
Finally, when I'm not taking care of patients, I love BBQ! I love grilling! I love spicy food! I love eating! I love craft beer and stouts! I love to hang out and spend time with my beautiful wife. I love visiting with our family and friends. I love to converse about random things. I love trying new things. I love to travel to new places and experience new cultures. I am a sports junkie. Anything sports-related, and count me in. The Texas Longhorns are EVERYTHING to me, and fittingly so, burnt orange is my favorite color…anything else would just not be appropriate. I bleed burnt orange; I really do.
Hello! I grew up in the Chicago area as a child. I moved around quite a bit while I was young. My family eventually ended up moving to Charlotte, NC, where I finally finished up my high school education. After high school, I had the pleasure of attending North Carolina State University, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences. Go Wolfpack!!
While at NC State University, I worked part-time with a dentist whom I absolutely adored. I got to experience what a tremendous dental practice looks and feels like. I knew from that moment that I wanted to work in dentistry. After my undergraduate studies, my dream of moving to New York City came true when I got accepted to the Dental Hygiene Program at NYU College of Dentistry. While there, I ran into this amazing person named Nirmal Bhakta, and the rest was history. New York City will always be special to me!
We both decided that moving to Texas was in our cards in 2009. I’ve always had a passion for education and teaching, so I looked to further my education once we moved to Texas. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Dental Hygiene and Education from The Baylor College of Dentistry in 2012. I’ve had the privilege of being an assistant professor at the Baylor College of Dentistry for some years and have gotten to meet some very passionate educators along the way. And to top it off, I have had the privilege to teach aspiring dental hygienists. Education has always been a passion of mine, and what better way to serve others than teaching students about dental hygiene!
I absolutely love everything about dentistry. I’m a dental geek. I truly am. I love teeth! My highest priority is always my patients and their oral health. I love getting to know my patients on a personal level, and I make sure that all my patients are healthy and are treated like family. My philosophy is simple: Treat every patient like I would treat my own mother. Prevention is vital! So, we take the time to educate our patients about their oral health, and how to keep their teeth healthy. Both my husband and I truly believe in conservative care. Less is always more!
I love to run! I love to keep myself healthy! I am a vegetarian by choice. I enjoy practicing yoga and love being outdoors. I love arts and crafts, and oh ya….FASHION! What woman doesn’t right? I love being around my husband and traveling and experiencing new parts of the world. I am an avid sports fan as well. Go Wolfpack! Go Bulls! We have an absolutely amazing 5-year old Goldendoodle named MJ, short for Michael Jordan (or Magic Johnson if you ask my husband).
